Meningitis ACWY vaccination – 10 days to go

Patients who are eligible for the Meningitis ACWY vaccine are being sent a letter to make an appointment in one of our ACWY clinics.  If you are an eligible patient and missed the previous clinics you can ask to be added to the list for our next clinic.   University 'Freshers' 1st time students - if you are under 25 years and are starting university this September for the first time you are also eligible for this vaccine.  Contact the surgery stating that you are an under 25 year old fresher student.  Further information about the MenACWY vaccine can be found on this website:

Surgery Closed - Easter Bank Holidays – 12 days to go

The surgery will be closed on Friday 30th March and Monday 2nd April due to the Easter Bank Holidays.  If you need out of hours medical care phone 0300 123 5566.   GP Out of Hours   This service is there when your GP is closed. We are there to help you with non-life threatening emergency illness, that you are unable to manage yourself and cannot wait until your GP is open. We cannot provide all the services your GP does.   Please do not use the service for things that you can self-manage or that can wait.   Phones are likely to be very busy, the wait for call –backs longer than average and the ability to provide visits and centre appointments may also be restricted.   Other options that may be able to support you especially with advice on self management and minor illness are :   Your local Pharmacy – often open longer hours than your GP NHS Direct Wales 0845 46 47 ( also for Dental Problems) NHS Direct Wales online
