   Our Services

General Medical Services

In addition to the usual medical services including health promotion, chronic disease management, immunisations, family planning and child health, the practice offers Enhanced Services such as Near Patient Testing (we monitor patients taking such drugs as warfarin and methotrexate) and Minor Surgical Procedures (including joint and soft tissue injections and the removal of skin lumps).

The practice is also an approved yellow fever vaccination centre.

Non NHS Services

The doctors are happy to carry out medical examinations for such purposes as insurance, sports medicals and certain types of driving licence. They will also fill out certain forms such as fitness to travel certificates. The NHS does not cover these services so a charge will be made; details of current charges are available on this website or at Reception.

Flu Vaccination

Immunisation against influenza is recommended for patients with asthma, emphysema, heart, or kidney problems, diabetes, immune system difficulties, carers, those living in nursing homes and all those over 65. Please contact Reception in late September to make an appointment.

Nurse Travel Clinic

If you require travel advice, please contact the surgery at least six weeks prior to your intended travel date to ensure adequate cover if immunisation is required. You will be asked to provide your name and up to date contact number.

The practice nurse will then try to contact you twice by phone on the next available travel clinic day following your request i.e. Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon after 2.00pm.  If you are unavailable and the nurse is unable to speak to you at this time, you will need to re-contact the surgery to request a further call back.  During the call, the nurse will take details of your itinerary and travel dates i.e. length and type of stay.

The nurse will advise you on the vaccines that you may require and any cost implications as certain immunisations are not covered by the NHS.  An appointment time will be arranged by the nurse who will also advise on general travel information.

Any payment due will need to be made prior to your first appointment.  We would ask that you therefore please allow sufficient time beforehand to arrange payment at the reception desk.

If you are travelling long term or within short notice, you may be advised to attend an alternative specialised travel clinic.

Nurse Minor Illness Clinic

The nursing team provide a minor illness clinic each afternoon for urgent appointments that can be booked on the day.
